Wrestling

I have went someplace that I never thought I would go.

I took my sons to the ASU wrestling club and much to my surprise (and consternation), I like it a lot.

I like it for the following reasons:
1. It is something that Raleigh and Will can work on together.
2. It is inexpensive by comparison(To football and basketball and baseball).
3. At Pee Wee anything else, I am the instructor or somebody else's dad is the instructor. At the wrestling club, my 4 year old and 7 year old are being taught by a division 1 college coaching staff.

I just hope Raleigh and Will enjoy it.

When I was in high school I was always involved in basketball and I loved it. Yet the wrestlers at my high school were tougher people. They worked out harder, in a room they kept as hot as hell.

Whenever Raleigh whined at tee ball or basketball the coach's reaction was to coddle Raleigh. Raleigh started that mess at wrestling club and the coach made him get going. I fell in love with it right there.

This is Will's first organized sports experience. I just want him to have fun. The next fifteen years of car pooling to athletic events has begun, I hope.

I hope they will enjoy sports and enjoy playing them while they are young. I wish that I would have been pushed in that direction more than I was.
