Israel

Ral had a "meeting" today at church. It was called "Connecting 101" and is an informational class about the church. He was excited that they went on a tour and saw the place he will be baptised.
On the way home he noticed the three crosses at the top of the hill by our church. He asked if that's where Jesus died. I told him that those crosses are just a reminder for us. He asked where Jesus really did die. After I told him he asked if Israel is a real place because he wanted us all to go visit there. I told him that we may one day...but it would be a long plane ride.
Ral said, "I'll take my Leapster so I can entertain myself. I'll bring chocolate bunnies, some chicken legs, peanut butter and jellies, crackers, cheese, macaroni and cheese..."
I'm glad that Ral has the important things right on! :)

Springtime fun!

The boys and I had a great time at the Tot Lot yesterday. We enjoyed the day with a picnic and lots of fun before the weather turns cold again next week.

Breakfast

I was sleeping late this morning (7am) and heard the boys playing around. Then I heard the words breakfast and kids meal just before I heard the slam of the microwave and buttons being pushed. I called Ral to my room and asked him what was going on. He looked at me and smiled as he said, "Im making breakfast!" and then told me about the Kids Meals. When I told him he couldn't use the microwave, he DID ask for help at that point.
So.....my boys had chicken nugget kids meals for breakfast.
While they were cooking Will was helping me munch on popcorn. He got some and said to me, "See you at the talent show, buddy!"
Ummm...ok.

Good Friday

On the way to school this morning I was explaining to Ral what Good Friday means to us. He looked up in the clouds and said, "It looks like a cross in the clouds. And there's a guard at the grave. Over there it looks like Mary, Jesus' mom, and that other guy singing about Jesus." I told him that Jesus loves it when we sing praises to him. Ral immediatly made up his own Jesus song, which was basically the Easter story, and sang it. I told him that some people in the world don't believe that Jesus died on the cross and there are some people that don't know about Him.
Ral said, "Well...maybe I should go all over the world and tell people about them." I said that would be a good thing and we call those people missionaries.
Ral thought for a minute and then said, "But I'm going to need a microphone."

If you want to tell others about Jesus, we'll get you the biggest microphone ever, my son! :)

April 3, 2009

I know that today is not that day, but I'm going to be blogging many things about that day and I want to never forget it.
It is very precious to our family.
On Friday night, Ral asked Jesus to come into his heart.
We attended the musical drama at our church. While Ral didn't make it through the whole performance....he made it through the most important parts. When I got home, he came out of his room and said, "Mama...can we talk about some stuff?" I asked him what kind of stuff. He said, "You know...the stuff at church tonight."
So, we started talking about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins and what you had to do to ask Jesus in your heart. He said he wanted to do that, so I went and got Mike. We all sat on the bed and Mike talked to him some more. A few minutes later, Mike led him in a prayer. To say that the moment was precious is an understatement.

When we were done I told Ral that the Bible tells us that the angels in heaven are rejoicing right now. Mike told him that Grandpa Doug was rejoicing as well.
Ral said, "I know a Spanish word they're saying. BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO!"
His conversation then turned to Baptism. He said, "Im going to need my goggles. And don't forget a towel." He then asked questions about what he would wear during and after the baptism.

On Sunday morning I talked to Raleigh about going down in front of the church to tell everyone about his profession. The children's director said to me, "Now, don't be worried if he doesn't want to go down. It can be intimidating. It took my son a year."
LOL Yeah, right. We ARE talking about Raleigh Combs here. At the end of svc. I asked him if he wanted to go forward. He said, "Yeah. Am I going to get baptised now?"
He was a little "star struck" seeing himself in TV. We had to sit down for a few minutes during announcements. Ral realized that the camera had the back of his head in view, so he spent the next few minutes raising his right hand and waving at himself on the TV :)

**More to come, later!

Will and eating

As I've mentioned before...Will is not an eater. Raleigh on the other hand, eats pretty much anything.
Last night we had lasagna for supper. Ral consumed his within minutes while Will sat in his highchair and screamed his guts out that he doesn't like supper and doesn't like Bee-zan-yuh.
Later on ME came over. During her visit she asked Ral why Will didn't eat supper.
Ral quickly told her, "He doesn't like to eat like us!"
Right you are Raleigh...right you are.
Last week when we made the cake, Will took one bite and declared, "But I don't like cake!"
Raleigh quickly offered to eat his. I just stood there in amazement, shaking me head, and wondering if he really was switched at birth :)
On the way out the door this morning Ral said, "Mama...if Will doesn't eat his supper tonight, can I eat his?"
Ya see...Raleigh is truly my son.
He thinks about eating all during the day and truly enjoys what he eats.
Will is a picky noneater..exactly the opposite of Ral!
