This n that...

- We went to Grandfather Mountain for the first time yesterday. Ral kept telling me he wanted to go on the "Shaky Bridge" aka the Swinging Bridge.
- After the mountain we went to Pappy's Restaurant. AKA Happy's, Hoppy's, Poppy's, Peppy's according to Will's vocabulary.
- Ral got a book about the Titanic at school. When I asked him about it, he told me that the Titanic was a big ship that hit an ice cube and sank.
- After Will used the bathroom the other night I went to help him wipe. He told me that he knew how to do it b/c that is what big boys do. He started to wipe and told me proudly, "I know how to do it. I got the technique!" After one wipe he decided, "No, I don't got the technique."
- On the way to Will's Shriners appt. the other day we were exiting the interstate when Will told me, "Hey mom...we just made a curve. Like my back!"

Watch out Weather Channel

Will picked up some DVD's and told me he was on the news. He looked down at his DVD script and gave us the forecast,
"There's a horrible storm outside. No one will be able to go back to school. You'll just have to stay home and play X-box."

Ral had to get into the action next...
"There is a storm coming in from the east and the west. Its a horrible storm b/c its a twister storm and a snowstorm. We don't know why its coming but we will be back and will know why. When it comes it will be the worst storm in the world and will be terribly horrible. Stay inside b/c the snowstorm and the twister storm will destroy the whole world! You will die and then go to heaven and then God will create a new earth."

Sickness

We had a great trip to Wilmington for Easter....until Will got sick on Sunday night with "the" stomach bug. Since his hospital stay due to dehydration after being sick 2 years ago, we always get nervous when Will gets sick. Until Monday, we have never had a kid get sick in a vehicle.
Yeah, I know some parents reading this are laughing hysterically b/c you know what's coming next.....
Will got sick in the Van in Mebane, after having some Sprite at a stop in Raleigh. This turned into a 15 minute search for some type of store with clothes. I finally found a Dollar General where I bought clothes, wipes, cleaner, paper towels, bowls, etc. etc. On Tuesday afternoon Ral's teacher brought him to me b/c he was complaining of his stomach hurting. He decided to stay at school for the last 1 1/2 hours.
I bet you can guess what happens next!
We went home early after Ral got sick in the computer lab. By the time I got home that "feeling" started to hit me. I spent the evening in the bed. Mike spent the evening cleaning up after everyone. Both boys had their own trash cans and "throw up bowls". On Wednesday night ME got sick. Aunt Stella was put in the hospital Thurs. night b/c of pneumonia. On Friday, Pa and Aunt Stella followed in the footsteps of the rest of us. I tried taking Ral to school on Friday for half day but he got sick as soon as we walked in. He told his ME that he was really sick, "I have the stomach bug and NOW the hiccups! This is the worst day ever. What could happen next??" I have washed LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of loads on the Sanitary Cycle. Once again I think the Sanitary Cycle on a washer is one of the best inventions EVER!!! If you are thinking about having kids, go ahead and invest in a front loader with a Sanitary Cycle. If you already have kids and don't have this wonderful thing, use your tax return and get one!!
