Consumers

My kids are quite the consumers and every commercials target audience. I got a Netflix movie today. Will can "read" the envelope and asked me if I had a netflix. Raleigh asked me which movie I had and I told him it was TWILIGHT.
I have never read Twilight or watched the movie, or mentioned anything Twilighty. Ral immediately asked me, "Mom, next time can you get New Moon?"
I laughed and asked him where he got that info. He told me that he saw the advertisement at Walmart.
Yesterday on the way to school Ral announced, "Mama, I really want us to get a SunSetter Retractable Awning". Ummm...ok Raleigh, we'll see. Of course he adds in, "They've got a 300 dollar off coupon right now! Please...can we get it?"

Prepare to be grossed out....

The ONLY reason I'm blogging this is b/c I HOPE to forget about this somehow, and have to be reminded of it a long, long, long time from now.

The other night when Mike was putting Will to bed, Will said to him, "Daddy...look at my booger collection!"

What you see in the pictures is JUST THAT. My son has been collecting his boogers on the wall in between posters.
The kicker is that this morning Will cried when I asked him how his booger collection was. He said through his tears, "Not too good mama. You said my booger collection was gross and that hurt my feelings."

I hope he gets over it b/c he spent part of his evening cleaing that nastiness.
Actually, he convinced his brother to help him clean the grossness.

Boys are gross!!

Pinewood Derby

The Blue Ridge District Pinewood Derby was held this morning at the mall. Mike and Ral didn't have much time to work on the car b/c of all the snow and the fact that we moved Packs recently. I'm proud to annouce, however, that Raleigh's car came in third place today!! Ral's car is the green one. We are so proud!

Gnats

When we got in the van this afternoon, Ral told me that there was a bug in the van. He thought it was a mosquito. Will, who is very freaked out at any bug, was very concerned about it and asked me to kill it. Ral, being the granola that he is, told him it was a part of nature and we should just leave it alone. Raleigh then told Will that mosquitoes suck your blood, they make him itch, and one bit his ear once. Will put his hand on his ears for most of the ride home, protecting himself from the mosquito.
I did find a gnat that I smashed on the window. This seemed to make Will happy and he asked if it was safe to take his hands off of his ears. I think Ral would have called the police about my cruelty to parts of nature as he was upset with my killing.
Will has spent the rest of the night scared to death of gnats. He is scared to walk down the hall. He is continually telling the story of me killing a gnat. He wouldn't go outside with Ral and I tonight because he was scared that a mosquito was outside waiting on him.
Just wait until this summer Will. Then the fun will really begin!!
