Night rituals

The boys are now sleeping in the same room. THAT went tons easier than I ever thought it would. Will is a great sleeper on his own but when we have stayed in Hotels, he is a nightmare. He's a bed hog..kicks...won't stop talking, etc. To his credit, however, he has shown that he can sleep well in Ral's room as well.
Every night before bed, Ral has to read books. Mike then does a song for each boy and gives them good dreams for the night. Ral always wanta a bazillion good dreams. His song choice could be anything from Proud Mary to Jesus Loves Me.

Will is predictable. Every night he wants "Away in a Manger".
Yeah...its February and no, we did not sing that song that much during Christmas.
But he loves it now....and gets to hear it each and every night.

"going to the HOUSE!!!!"

The boys hear so much more than I realize that they hear sometimes.

Case and Point.

I'm sitting in the living room watching Sportscenter and Will is playing his V-Smile. Sportscenter does a story about Deuce McAlister leaving the Saints and looking for a new place to play next year. The story showed high lights of McAlister running the football.

Will looks up at the TV, smiles real big and says at the top of his lungs, "Daddy, their playing football, he's taking it to the house!!!"

My heart almost burst with joy. If there aware of the game of football this early then there is a chance they will play it someday. That would make me happy.

God Bless America.

You know you're really a mom

When you watch your 5 year old vomit on Friday night and then have your 3 year old vomit all over your shirt and pants when you pick him up today.

When he yells Mama, runs to you to be held, and then vomits...you think about it afterwards and say, "Oh, I should have known he was going to vomit b/c that's what's happened last time when he was so sick he had to be hospitalized."

When your 3 year old keeps saying, "Mama, I want some spray." (Sprite)

When you laugh at the fact that your 5 year old is doglike in the fact that he will throw up...eat...throw up...eat...throw up...
you get the picture. I caught him eating a poptart in my bed Sat. morning...only 8 hours after the stomach bug from the night before.

When you think that the "Sanitary" cycle on the washing machine is the best thing ever invented. You even take home all of the soiled clothing from your mother-in-laws house so that you can fill the washing machine as to justify the hour and 55 minutes that it will be sanitizing everything at once.

So...you get the idea of what we've been doing in our house the last few days.

Sassy

Raleigh was full of Random comments on the way to school this morning. He was asking me about Grandfather mountain, about a time Daddy called the police to help someone on the road, etc. etc. Then he says to me, "Mom, I want to buy Daddy a dog that can eat Sassy in one bite."

Sassy is the little yippy dog across the street. Apparently Mike has made the comment about getting a dog to eat him.
Ral loves his daddy and wants to get him a gift :)

God is good...all the time

Its been an emotional roller coaster the past week. Everything has worked out, however. We can put the legal aspect in the past, have closure, and move on.
Its great to see how the Lord worked out so many details over the past week.

God is good....all the time.
