T-Ball!

T-ball has started up again at church and Ral is playing for the 2nd summer. We are hoping that he learns to run to 1st base instead of the direction that he hits the ball. He got a hit last week, so he was really proud of himself. I took some pictures of him this morning before he left. Yes, he needs a haircut desperately!

Saying Good Bye In The Morning

Every morning I take Will to his Me's house.

Every morning if I don't sneak out Will has a fit when I try to leave. A fit that lasts all of two minutes, hey it's still flattering it makes me feel like he might actually miss me.

This morning was classic, he went back into Mom's room to watch power rangers on You Tube. I should have just snuck out but I wanted to watch him for a second. He is to cute when the power rangers of something that he likes is on. He saw me and knew I was leaving and he ran over and jumped into my arms. I carried him back into the living room and tried to put him down three times. Each time he started crying and I would pick him up.

I finally got to the door and was getting ready for the fit that would happen when I turned to walk away and Me said 'Hey Will come and get your bottle'.

He was gone and I might have well as just not been there at all. It was hiliarious. One bottle and the attention was gone. Too Funny.

Falling asleep in the highchair

Will didn't have a nap today. He was cranky when he came home. During dinner he was real quiet...now I know why! He was sleeping and eating :-)
Raleigh used to do the same thing at his Me's house. One day he fell asleep eating. A few days later he had quite a bit to eat, but demanded more. His Me fixed his plate, put him in the high chair and he fell right asleep again!

For what its worth, Will did a great job finishing his dinner in between snoozes!

Boys and basketball

Mike is watching the Cavs play in the other room right now. Its game 7 and apparently the CAVS aren't doing so great. Mike is always very animated and likes to yell and pump his fists in the air alot.
Of course, my boys do exactly like their daddy.
I've been listening to Will yell, "Get the ball...get the ball!" Just like Daddy.

He just ran into the computer room with a baseball mitt on and looked at me and yelled, "Get the ball." Obviously he doesn't know the difference between baseball and basketball right now.

Raleigh has been imitating him as well, yelling about fouls and making a shot. Mike said something like, "Take us home, baby, take us home...yeah, we're going to win."
Ral repeated the same thing. Stopped a minute and then commented, "but we are home, Daddy."

Gotta love 2 year old and 4 year olds who don't function in symbolism :)

Memory

I took Will to Winston a few weeks ago for his Scoliosis appt. He cried the whole time they did the x-ray.
He went to the Shriners Hospital in Greenville, SC on Tuesday for an evaluation. He cried the whole time during the x-ray again.
His memory is hard at work these days. Its interesting what he "got" from the visit. He'll ask me to cry and when I start crying he'll say, "Time for picture!" (That is what we told him the x-ray was) When I keep crying he will say, "Time for Sticker!" and will go over and act like he is trying to find me a sicker.
After his x-ray, the technician went over to the drawer and thumbed through a gazillion stickers to get him just the right one.

The memory of a 2 1/2 year old is an interesting thing.

Will knows most of the words to the Ohio State Fight Song and will sing it 53,438,943 times a day.
If you ask him his name and his age, he either says, "Name Will" or "Age 2" as the answer to both of the questions.

This n that

Lots going on with the end of school and trying to clean out closets of clothes that are too big...and too small.
We took Will back to Winston this past week. The doc thought his back was better and the curve was down to 12 degrees. We will go to Shriners in Greenville next week for another opinion. The last two times we have been to Winston, the x-ray from the previous time was supposedly "not good", thus the reason for the varying changes. I'll be glad to find someone who can x-ray my child's back and come to a good conclusion.

Raleigh got to go to Tweetsie's opening day on Friday. We got to hang out with our good friends Mrs. Hicks (Ral's speech therapist) and Bethany, from his preschool. He loves Bethany. When Ral was sick last week and missed school for 3 days, I asked him if he missed any of his classmates. He said, "Just Bethany, who I'm going to marry."

Tweetsie was fun, although Ral's love of trains is wearing away. Its kind of sad at times. The kid who used to talk only of trains and Thomas is now into Power Rangers, dinosaurs, and Resue Heroes.

I asked Ral if he would like to take Will with us to Tweetsie. He said, "No, because he might pinch me." I pointed out all the fun things at Tweetsie and hinted that Will would probably have a good time. Ral told me, "He'll have more fun at home."
Tweetsie has pretty much been a Ral and mama or a Ral and daddy treat. I'm guessing Raleigh wants to keep it that way.

Will is in full 2 year old mode. When he is crying, he'll come up to me and say, "Hold you mama. Hold you." Its really sweet.
The other time he is usually screaming or being mean to his brother. He knows to say sorry and now antcipates Ral's response of "that's okay."
Last night Will knocked his big head into my eye. It really hurt. I shed a few tears. Will started saying, "Ha-wee mama. Ha-wee" and when I didn't say anything to him, he went ahead and said for me, "That o-kay...that o-kay."

Will is starting to use the toilet some. If he tells me "change poop diaper, mom" and nothing is there, thats my cue to get him on the toilet fast! He is starting to realize the feeling his body has when he needs to poop.
It may be a while until he is toilet trained, but he is making all the right steps as of now.
Will still loves hot dogs and bologna a lot. He eats way too many of them here.
I was grilling chicken on Tuesday. On the way in and out of the house he kept asking, "What doin' mama...what doin'?" I told him I was cooking supper on the grill. He kept saying, "hamburgers mama? hamburgers?" I kept telling him I was cooking chicken, but you can put this conversation in reverse and play 15 times and that was the basis of our conversation over the next few minutes. He loves to ask, "what doin'" when he sees you doing something.

Despite his temper tantrums, moodiness, and general mean behaviors to his brother, Will remains a little love. He is a mama's boy through and through and still loves to snuggle, cuddle, and hug.

He recently found out who Humpty Dumpty is while staying at his ME's house. He is so funny when he talks about him. If you ask about it, he'll tell you, "Dumpy Dumpy got hurt. Fell down. Broke arm." Occasionally he'll even add in, "Dumpy Dumpy egg".
