Emotional Eater

Ral is going to be an emotional eater like his mama!

Last night I was crying b/c Im going to Wilmington on Tues. This will be the first time my mom has seen Will. And the first trip to Wilmington since my daddy died.

Ral comes and sits on my lap and asks me, "Who you miss?" He does this everytime I cry. He knows I miss Grandpa Doug. He sat in my lap and kept asking me "You done? You done?"

After a few minutes he says, "You need milk and cookies." He kept telling me this. I asked him why I needed that.

He put his hand on my heart (although its moved to the right side of my body) and said, "You need milk and cookies. It make you feel better in you heart." He then moved his hand down and said, "And you boobies!"

I thought I would die laughing. He continued to tell me how milk and cookies would make me feel better in my heart and boobies.

So...we had milk and cookies.

And he was right...things were better

Ill just watch

The other night I told Ral to clean up his toys. He said, "I too tired." I asked him who was going to clean up the mess then. He said his daddy would. He then climbs on the couch and says, "Daddy, you clean up. I just gonna watch."

Can you guess who cleaned up the toys? Its amazing what a trash bag can do when you tell a 2 year old his toys will go in it if he doesn't clean up!

Milk

Here is a story that Ral will hate that I'm blogging about when he is older....

Last night when he came home I was nursing Will. Will LOVES to nurse for comfort. Im a human pacifier lately.

Ral gets up in my lap with me and Will, lifts his shirt up and tells me, "I have milk in my boobie!"

I tell him he doesn't and try hard not to laugh.

Later, while Im STILL nursing Will he says, "Just let Daddy feed Baby Will." I ask him, "How will he give him milk." Of course he replies, "From his boobie!" I tell him to ask his daddy about this, Ral says, "Daddy, you got milk in you boobie?"

The look on Mike's face was priceless.

Today ME came to get Ral and take him up to stay with her and Pa. He sits on her lap, looks down her shirt and says, "Me, you got milk in your boobies?"

Is this a sign my son is going to be obessesed with them?? :-)

Summer

Ral and I talk about Spring and Summer quite a bit. He'll ask about going on the boat and I'll tell him we will go this summer. I got our Tweetsie season passes this weekend. We talked about going there a bunch this summer.

Ral has no concept of summer yet.

Everytime I talk about doing something this summer he will look out the window and say, "There summer!" I try to explain it to him. He just points outside and say, "Summer right there!"

In a Pan?????

Sunday evening Mike went to church. Ral had to stay with me and Will because he refused to go to Sunday School that morning and I didnt want to take a chance on another meltdown.

It was a bad couple of hours.

Will was in a screaming mood and I was having to use every trick in the book to soothe him. While this was going on Ral was wanting supper, I was wanting supper, Odie needed to be fed, and I had a million things to do, as always.

I finally got Will to sleep, put him in the basinette and went to the kitchen.

Less than a minute later Will is screaming his guts out. I come to the living room and find Raleigh's hands in the basinette on Will. He had woken him up!!

I was so upset. I scooped Will up and let Raleigh have it. I told him that I was very upset with him for waking Will up. I also let him know that next time he woke up Will I was going to fry his butt!

His response....

"In a Pan?"

Hmmm....guess I need to clarify things next time since the only kind of frying Raleigh knows about occurs in a pan!

Funny kid

Ral is such a funny kid at times. When I say this to others they tell me its a good thing considering the humor his parents have.

Last night he had 2 bowls of green beans for supper. Yes. Green beans. That's what he wanted and I was more than happy to let him have it! Afterwards he had some WHIPS yogurt. A few minutes later he ate another thing of yogurt. I was cleaning the kitchen when he came in and announced to me that he had a stomachache. Of cours it took a while for me to figure this out since Ral talks in Ral language most of the time. I told him I was sorry and asked him if he was going to throw up. He said,
"Nah. I have a stomache ache. Im starving to death."

:-)

I then tried to explain that starving to death means that you are hungry and that him tummy was hurting because he probably ate too much.

He proceeded to tell me that he wanted to ear the worms (angel hair pasta) on my plate.
