Can Jesus get a time out?

Last week, out of the blue, Ral asked if Grandpa Doug was dead. I told him yes. Told him we missed him. Told him he was in heaven with Jesus, etc. etc.

Ral started asking why Jesus would do that. I tried to explain things to him, but I guess it didn't work.

After a few minutes Ral says, "Well, I not going to kill him. But I am going to give him a time out....in his bedroom."

LOL!!!

Great update on Will's scoliosis!

Mike took Will back to Winston last week for his 3 month scoliosis follow up. (I had surgery on the 13th and am not able to travel yet). In January Will's back was 31 degrees. When we went back in March, the curve was down to 23 degrees. Last week the curve was down to 12 degrees. Praise the Lord!!!! We don't have to go back to Winston for 6 months now!

A Big Afternoon at Tweetsie

I went with Laura and Raleigh and Will to Tweetsie yesterday. The idea was to get me a season pass so I could take Raleigh to Tweetsie without Laura having to be there. We also wanted to take another ride on Thomas before he went back to the Island of Sodor.

We got my pass and soon Raleigh and I were left to our own means and devices. We took the cable car up to the top (I had to get my ride sense about me) riding a ride scared me for a minute but it was fun and I adjusted. I kept telling Raleigh to put his back against the seat, he was a very good boy and did what I asked him to do. We rode them to the top and then back down again. I was ready to take Bertie the bus back down but Raleigh was determined to ride. It was fun.

Raleigh and I then rode the go carts. I don't know that we'll do the gocarts again until after I have my surgery I barely fit in the cart and getting to the pedals was a challenge. Ral loved it so it was very definitely worth it.

Ral loves the arcade at Tweetsie, I will take some quarters the next time I go or get some cash and let Raleigh play.

Raleigh rode the ferris wheel with me and he loved it. What a difference a year makes. When he rode the ferris wheel last year with Laura he buried his hand in her arm and would not move. We didn't get to ride the tea cups or the merry go round, next time we will.

It was a great day, we ran errands around Boone afterwards, it was fun.

Bad Dreams

While I was in the shower this morning Ral walked in...naked. He started telling me a story about why he was in there, but I wasn't really listening. I was just worried that he had taken his pullup off AGAIN and peed all over the bed. Thankfully, that wasn't the case.

After I showered and he played in the shower, he told me why he was up while I dressed him.

"I had bad dreams mom. It was about a dinasour. And I got sprayed all over with dinosaur goo! So then, I got up and heard that owl going Hoo Hoo. I got up and I walked all around." At this point he uses his fingers and moves them around to show him walking all around. "Then, I came in the bathroom with you! You are my sweetheart, mom."

So THAT is the story behind the dinosaur goo and the bad dreams.

I'm just glad I was already up for the day!

If only life was this simple

Last weekend Raleigh's ME went to see her sister in Ohio who has cancer. Ral and I have talked about Aunt Martha quite a bit and prayed for her.

On Tuesday when we were talking about her Raleigh says, "Her sick?" I told him yes. He replies, "Her going to die?" I told him yes, that everyone dies at some point.

He looks at me and says, "I got an idea! I'll giver her some of my red medicine."

What red medicine???

He goes on to tell me, "When I get sick, I take my red medicine and it makes me feel all better. Let's give Aunt Martha some of my red medicine so her will feel better!"

If only life was this simple, my son...
If only life was this simple.

Ode to Baby Will

Will was resting today on my shoulder and I was singing to him.
Ral came up and started singing real quietly to him....

When you are sad
Then I will kill something
And we will be friends....

What a sweet brother!! :)
