Vacation Bible School

My boys have attended some Bible Schools here in Mtn. City the past few weeks. When I went home to Wilmington, Will was able to go to VBS at the chapel. His teacher was Mrs. Beal, the same teacher I had when I was a kid!

Some amusing things my kids have learned at Bible School....
- Will told us all about the fiery furnace. He was so exicited telling me, "You know, those guys went in the fiery furnace and they didn't get burned! It was Shadrack, Meshack....and a billy goat!"
- Instead of "Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning, burning, burning" Its "Give me oil in my land" Instead of Sing Hosannah, its "Sing Who-Zanna"
- The little boy on the picnic had fish and cake!
- Instead of a song about the "Ancient of Days", Ral was singing about the AGENT of days tonight :)

And a few other tidbits...
- Raleigh really likes it when they serve dinner at VBS. He especially likes to NOT tell me about this so that he gets 2 meals and I get to go crazy trying to get dinner served before bible school.
- Will had a FIT Monday night when I picked him up b/c the van riders were leaving and he wanted to ride the van. He screamed and cried, "You made me not ride the van, mama!" all the way out. Everyone in the church was staring at us. Everyone.
- When I asked what they did the other night, Will told me they had a staff meeting to tell about their booboos. Strange. But I guess that's what happens in preschool classrooms.
- They boys got a tattoo the first night of VBS this week. The next day he showed it off to someone one and said, "Look! I got a tortilla!" Umm..that's a tattoo Will. His confusion comes from the new Toy Story movie where potato head has to use a tortilla for travel. I guess he has tortilla on the brain, even though he doesn't really know what one is. He DID want to buy some for his brother at the store, though!

Out of control

Will cut his shirt at ME's house today. When I asked him why he did it he said, "I forgot....I'm just outta control."

Being "outta control" is his answer for a lot of things he does lately.

I guess it was a rough day at ME's house, so I asked the boys what they did and why. Of course Will told me his standard answer when Raleigh pipes up, "Maybe I should give him one of my pills, mom."

I told him that was not a good idea...the pills just helped him focus. Will replies, "Im outta control mama. I want one of brudder's pills so I can focus. I want to just focus."

Conversations with Will...continued!

Will and I were talking about preschool next year since he will be at CC. When I told him he would have Ms. Audrey as a teacher, he said, "Well..you know...that will be strange."

I tried to assure him that it wouldn't be and thought maybe he was under the assumption that I would be his teacher. I asked him, "What grade do I teach, Will?"
W - Cove Creek
Me - No I teach 5th grade. (5 second pause) What grade do I teach?
W - 4th!
Me - No Will...I teach 5th grade! (8 second pause) What grade do I teach?
W - Grade!

After that, I quit asking the question!
