Say Cheese

I took some cute pics of Ral the other night that I will post later. While he was smiling I said, "Say Sophia" knowing that the thought of his girlfriend would make him smile. He looks at me and says, "Thomas!"

I try it again.

"Say Sophia!"

He looks at me and grins and says, "Clarabell!"

Potty Training

That's what we've been doing lately. We are now on week 2 of being in underwear all of the time.
Woo Hoo!!!!

Ral is doing great. Yesterday he even went into the bathroom on his own to poop. Those of you who are parents understand that this is big stuff we are talking about!!! Im VERY proud of him. We've gone to "Donald's" twice to celebrate. We are going to see the movie CARS soon as well.

I'm off to Walmart later to buy more underwear since washing the same few pairs every day is getting old!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Today is my first Father's Day without my Daddy. I had him here for 33 Father's Days. Im so sad that he wasn't here for this one. I wanted to badly to be able to call him and tell him that I love him. I would have had Raleigh "sign" a card for Grandpa from him and Will.

I miss you daddy.

I'm so glad I had the last few years when our relationship was better. There were times I used to say that my dad didn't know how to have a relationship with his kids. It was awkward, uneasy, and rigid.

That really changed when I got married.

I think he began to mellow out some.

When I had Raleigh things really became better for all of us. Our relationship grew. He came to visit more. I went to visit him more.

He really loved his grandson.

Sometimes I get so sad that he never got a chance to meet Will. I often wonder what he would have said about Will. I listen to other's comments and assume his would have been similar...but still feel cheated that he didn't get to see Will.

I love you daddy. Happy Father's Day.

Potty training

I've been working on potty training Raleigh. I have no idea really how to do it. I've asked people and they just tell me, "Do it when he's ready."

I put him in underwear except for nap time and bedtime. He pees in the toilet and wears big boy underwear all the other times. He's doing really well. Tonight we had our first poop "accident" in his underwear. I hear that pooping takes longer to teach. Hopefully not too long!

I like to move it!

Last night Ral watched the last part of Madagascar. While I was talking to my sister I notice Raleigh dancing. He was dancing all around singing to the credits, "I like to Move it!" Of course while he was dancing around he had no underwear on so while he jiggled his butt and was singing, he kept on turing around to check out his tush!

A Day Out With Thomas

We went to Tweetsie Railroad today with Sharon to see Thomas. Ral loves Thomas. This was his first year to see him. When Thomas pulled away the first time Ral had an emotional breakdown because he assumed Thomas wasn't coming back. He had a fabulous time today though. He loved being with his Aunt Sharon. I got the chance to meet a girl from a message board I post on. Katie and her little boy Ruben. The neat thing is, Katie just had another little boy in February, so both of our boys are close in age!
Ral enjoyed seeing Sir Topham Hatt and liked to talk to him. He waited in line twice to see him. We rode the Mouse Train, as always and had fun on that too.
It was an excellent day.

Raleigh funnies

1) Ral was eating corn on the cob the other day. Right before he picks it up he says, "Come to Papa."

2) Ral is all the time telling me to "Watch and Learn" when he is showing me how to do something.

3) As I was talking to him the other day he says, "Alright, tough guy."
