Listening in....

Sometimes its easy to forget that Ral is listening to everything that we say. We usually remember this when he repeats something we DON'T want him to say.

This morning I was asking Mike if he heard about the woman who was killed and her fetus was cut from her body. What a very sad situation. I told Mike that they think the fetus was removed with scissors.

Ral pipes up and says, "That's a bad thing." "I will have to take those scissors away and I will throw them in the trash can."

Now of course Ral has no real clue what Mike and I were discussing. But...he kneew that this was a bad thing and that when you do something bad with scissors, you get them thrown in the trash can.

Too bad we can't apply the same principle to bad people.

Crawling

Yes, Will is starting to crawl.

Slow crawls...but crawls.

The time of immobility is coming to an end.

Say a prayer for us please!

I'll just hang out

The other day Ral was looking for his shoes. He asked daddy to help. Mike said something about "looking together" b/c Ral thinks its really cool when we do things together.

Raleigh then tells Mike, "You just find them, Dad. I'll just stay here and hang out."

You play a flute!

Ral loves marching bands.

He went to his first football game the other night. When he found out he was going he said, "We going to see a marching band!"

He also likes to create our own marching band around the house.

Ral is always the director.

As part of his director job, he gets to tell everyone else which instrument to play. He always tells me, "You play a flute!"

I've pleaded for other instruments....to no avail. He always says, "Nah" to my suggestions and orders me, "You play a flute."

So...the flute I will play!

A good big brother

Ral is such a good big brother.

He LOVES to make Will laugh. Usually this can be accomplished by standing in front of Will and acting silly. Will loves to see Ral jump up and down. He just squeals with delight. Then, Ral brings out "the tickler" on him.
If Will gets upset Ral will say things to him that we say..."that's alright buddy, its okay" etc.

Raleigh is wide open as always. He has entered the WHY phase of life. Everything is Why...!!!!

I can tell him we are going to Tweetsie.

Why, mom??

Because, you want to Raleigh.

Come talk on the phone, Raleigh.

But why mom???

Ugh! It gets irritating at times. But I know that he isnt doing it for that purpose. Mrs. Margery and my mama have assured me that he is learning, thus the reason he asks "why" to everything.

One more Raleigh funny....

On the way home from Tweetsie yesterday Raleigh was shooting his new guns at me. Next thing you know I look over and with his gun pointed at me Raleigh says, "I going to fry you ass, mom!"

Ummmm...ok.

I asked him where he learned that.

He told me Mrs. Margery.

Mrs. Margery was his 2 year old Sunday School teacher. While she taught him many things I know she didn't teach him that. Lately, Mrs. Margery is blamed for everything if you ask Raleigh where he learned it.

Getting ready to crawl!!!!

Will is on the verge of crawling.

Oh my.

Mobility is near. Life will never be the same.

He's got his tummy off of the floor and is starting the rocking motion. He's even managed a few crawls here and there. He does a great job lunging and rolling across the room now.

He is eating stage 2 food now. Finally...he is liking solid foods!!! He is up to 3 or 4 jars a day.

Still just the bottom 2 teeth for now.

My little baby is 7 months old now. Time is flying by!

7 months

I've almost made it 7 months nursing Will. WooHoo! Go me :-)

We had a hard start, just like with Raleigh. He didn't/couldn't/wouldn't nurse, so I pumped. I kept it up and gradually started nursing him again and he caught on.

Now, almost 7 months later we are still at it!

I'm the first to admit its a pain at times. Pumping at school. Pumping at home. Pumping in the hospital.

But is it worth it?

A million times yes.

I'm so glad that I got the chance to nurse Will. It has been incredible and I'll gladly sacrifice my free time to provide this for my baby.

Tweetsie Railroad

Ral and I are supposed to go to Tweetsie Railroad today. We've talked about it all weekend.

Daddy told him a bedtime story about it.

When he woke up with a bad dream we talked about having a good dream about Tweetise.

Now, it's raining.

And raining.
And raining.

Please let it stop soon!!!!

I was sick too...

Last Monday when I took Raleigh to the doc. I was not feeling well at all. My throat hurt. I was tired. I was cold. I felt so bad.

I went to the doc on Tues and was told it was either tonsillitis or strep throat. She said if I wasn't better by Thurs. they might have to admit me.

Wednesday was agony. I never knew a throat could hurt so bad. I had big blisters on one side and a pocket of pus on the other, a coated tongue, and a bright red throat.

So, they admitted me.

I was put on heavy antiobiotics, steriods, pain meds, and reflux medicine.

24 hours later I was MUCH better and went home.

I'm almost back to normal now. My throat is fine. I'm still on meds. Just a little tired, that's all!
