I did it!!

I did it!
I did it!
I did it...hooray!!

Yes, I am singing the Dora song. I went to Wilmington this past weekend....by MYSELF with Raleigh and did great! This was my first trip with the baby by myself to go home. I was VERY apprehensive and nervous, but things went great. Ral was SUCH a good boy during the entire trip. He slept through the night all 3 days at 2 different places. He really put on all of his charm the whole trip. He loved walking up and down the halls at the nursing home. He even laid in the bed with mama and watched his movie. He even got up in the chair with her several times to give her hugs. Coming back he was close to meltdown, bless his heart. It had been a long trip. I kept him entertained the last 5 minutes by making cat fight sounds. It cracked him up!!

His most favorite word of the trip... "Achoo" Said very sweetly with southern accent most of the time! He even tried to put his hand up to cover his nose for his fake sneeze. Of course, his hand only made it to his mouth, but it was still cute. He also said "Night" "Milk" "Chicken" "Bottle" "Fish" and "Bird" quite a few times. He's pretty much repeating most words now and will mimic you when you clear your throat or cough as well. If I blow on my food or on his food, he blows on it as well. When he gets a phone, he holds it up and talks into it and says hey. Of course the phone is backwards and pointing up, but hey...he's only 14 months!!

Friday evening I had the water running several places in the house I was in to clear the water. I went to put a blanket in the wash. When I came back, Raleigh was in the tub! Stride Rites came through though, and the insides stayed dry.

He played in the play area at Chic Fil A on the way down. On the way down we went to McD0nalds. I had to get him out pretty quick though after some big kids came in and he had a little girl dragging his arm and a boy barking like a dog behind him. He was doing pretty good hanging with them, but I couldnt stand it!

Ral loves trains now. We stopped at a toy store on the way home and he was fascinated by the toy train!

All in all, it was a great trip. I got to see my dad 3 times and also got to see my sis and my cousin.

Next time I don't know if Ill be this happy about the trip, but THIS trip was fantastic. It feels good knowing that I can take him to visit my mom.

Growing and bugs

Raleigh is getting bigger everyday and learning so much. When he is watching TV, he has been trying to copy some of what is going on. He copied Dora showing big and small and then copied the dancing clown on one of his Baby Einstein videos. So cute! He is walking all of the time now. He had such a good time after church yesterday being able to roam around the halls and walk a lot. He is starting to say lots of new words and beginning to copy what you say. Its so darn cute! Guess Mike and I will really have to watch what we're saying from now on!

Friday night Raleigh was playing with stuff in one of the end tables. He had gotten a phone book and some papers out. He had something in his mouth, then took it out, then put it back in, etc. I go to get what I think is trash out of his mouth. It was a bug!!!!! YUCK!!!! It was still alive. I guss that's why he kept taking it in and out! I told Mike we really need to watch him even more closely now!

I can't believe I had a bug in my house and my kids was eating it......
